Installing openvpn and connect via ssh to a remote machine

1) Install openvpn on Debian

sudo apt-get install openvpn

2) create directory for keys and certificates. Put files in here

mkdir /home/username/openvpn

3) change filenames for keys and certificates of client.ovpn

vim /home/username/openvpn/client.ovpn

4) change password

openssl rsa -in /home/username/openvpn/spielprinzip.key -out /home/username/openvpn/spielprinzip_new.key -des3
rm /home/username/openvpn/spielprinzip.key
mv /home/username/openvpn/spielprinzip_new.key /home/username/openvpn/spielprinzip.key

5) Start VPN, enter password

sudo openvpn --config /home/username/openvpn/client*

6) Connect to the IP provided

ssh username@11.11.11.1
